THE HIDDEN MOUNTAIN TOWN OF CRESTED BUTTE
So this post is long overdue, but I couldn't pass up sharing my experience in Crested Butte! We vacationed here with friends for New Years Eve. We had a ski vacation, even though the snow was VERY bare. The views from the ski resort are incredible, and overlook the mountain chain that is on the other side of Aspen.
Some more beautiful views, and very little snow.
The village at the ski resort was so nice, and had some great ice sculptures!
So the town of Crested Butte is about 10 minutes from the ski resort. The main street (Elk Avenue) is ADORABLE with colorful buildings, art galleries, restaurants and bars. It is the perfect place to wander after a hard ski day!
We also got to see a great firework show from our balcony for New Years Eve!
If you want a unique mountain town vacation that is tucked away from all of the tourists, GO TO CRESTED BUTTE! The views will not disappoint, AND I hear the wildflowers in the summer are stunning! I can't wait to take a camping trip there in a few months! Stay tuned for another summer blog post!
