3 DAYS IN SANTA BARBARA
Santa Barbara is named the American Riviera, and it really does live up to that name. You feel like you're roaming the streets of Italy. My mom and I only spent a few days in Santa Barbara, and we loved every second of it! Here are a few of the beautiful places we explored.
First we walked around the center of town. We started at the Paseo Nuevo Shops and Restaurants. This outdoor mall really feels like you transported to Italy!
We wandered through here and up State Street, where there are a lot of shops and restaurants.
After getting a bite to eat, we went to explore the STUNNING Santa Barbara County Courthouse. You can go to the top of the clock tower for free and get a panoramic view of the city!
The next day we went to explore some vineyards in the mountains. The drive up the steep mountain road was so beautiful!
Our first stop was Solvang, CA. A small Danish town that feels so random for California! There are Danish bakeries, shops and delicious restaurants. This place is definitely worth the drive!
Our next stop was Sunstone Winery. This is a boutique vineyard with a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. We could have stayed here all day and taken a nap! There was actually people napping after their wine tastings haha! We also stopped at Gainey Vineyard, which is larger and has a more corporate feel. Sunstone was definitely my favorite!

For our last day we got some history in and explored the Old MIssion Santa Barbara. It was so peaceful and stunning! You can do a self guided tour and leisurely explore the lush grounds.
Before heading back to Los Angeles, we did one final stop in Ventura, CA. WHALE WATCHING! I was so excited to do this because I have never seen a whale in the wild. We went through Island Packers Cruises and did a 3 hour tour to the Channel Islands. We saw HUNDREDS of dolphins, 3 grey whales, sea lions and a shark! It was so unbelievable! I highly recommend doing this tour!
So if you're going to Santa Barbara, try to fit these sites into your trip! You won't regret it!
