HOW I GOT THE SHOT

This photo of Jackson Square looking like a fairy tale scene is one of my absolute favorites. It also has a pretty cool story behind it.

I was heading to Jackson Square to get some behind the scene shots of the New Orleans tourism commercial. We were filming the new commercial for the tricentennial (NOLA's 300th Birthday is this year!).  I parked in the parking lot near the Mississippi River and walked up to Jackson Square. The sun was setting and the sky looked like cotton candy. It was so incredibly beautiful. There were a lot of tourists taking photos and I just couldn't resist! It was the perfect beginning to a fun night filming a commercial to promote this incredible city!

When I got home and started editing the photo I noticed how aligned the horse carriages were, and that the horse on the right taking a drink added so much to the photo. It was as if time stood still, and I captured the romance of the city.

This is by far my favorite photo I have ever taken in New Orleans. New Orleans is full of fairy tale scenes and beautiful colors. If you have not visited, make your first trip this year to celebrate its 300th birthday. Create your own "One Time In New Orleans" story!
